Blane created Riverpoint Wealth Management in 2013 with his partner, Timothy McGrath, as a nationally registered investment advisory firm with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Blane celebrated his 20th year in the business in 2016 and serves as one of the portfolio managers at RWM. On a discretionary basis, the team runs an exclusive and robust wealth management process. Blane only accepts new clients on an introductory basis from existing clients and professional partners.

Blane graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, 31, 9 and 10 registrations through LPL Financial, and the Series 65 through Riverpoint Wealth Management. Blane also has several state insurance licenses.

Blane and his wife, Kristin, have twin daughters, Alden and Parker. In his spare time, Blane is a yacht racer who has successfully won several regattas throughout the United States. He started sailing at age five in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Blane continued sailing in Michigan and eventually in Chicago. He became the fleet captain for both the J105 and J70 Classes in Southern Lake Michigan. In 2009, Blane competed in the first double-handed race to Mackinac Island. In 2015, he competed in his first Super Mac with a First Place in division aboard the Great Lakes 70 “Stripes.”

The CPWA® designation signifies that an individual has met initial and on-going experience, ethical, education, and examination requirements for the professional designation, which is centered on private wealth management topics and strategies for high-net-worth clients. The designation is administered through Investment & Wealth Institute, formerly Investment Management Consultants Association (“IMCA”). Prerequisites for the CPWA® designation are a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or one of the following designations or licenses: CIMA®, CIMC®, CFA®, CFP®, ChFC®, or CPA license; have an acceptable regulatory history as evidenced by FINRA Form U-4 or other regulatory requirements and five years of professional client-centered experience in financial services or a related industry. CPWA® designees have completed a rigorous educational process that includes self-study requirements, an in-class education component, and successful completion of a comprehensive examination. CPWA® designees are required to adhere to IMCA’s Code of Professional Responsibility and Rules and Guidelines for Use of the Marks. CPWA® designees must report 40 hours of continuing education credits, including two ethics hours, every 2 years to maintain the certification.
